Reliance Jio, a part of the Mukesh
Ambani-controlled Reliance Industries which has almost completed with
the Infrastructure to launch 4G services country-wide. Now the company
is also planning to launch fiber based Broadband services across 900
cities in India. After this launch company will give direct competition
to the Pan India Broadband providers like BSNL and Airtel.
“The company aims to create a digital ecosystem which can be used to benefit the industry, the government and retail users. The key leadership talent required for the setting up of the business are in place and are currently leading the implementation phase,” Reliance Industries said in its Annual Report for the year 2013-14.
Reliance Jio has rolled their own Infrastructure in many places
possible but in the remaining areas they are signing deals with private
players like Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications. If the plan get
complete in the desired way Reliance Jio will become the largest telecom
player in India to provide Fiber based Broadband services.
In Fixed line sector BSNL is the largest player right now with more
than 20 million customers. Airtel which is leading in the Wireless mode
is on second place here but still it has only 3 million customers
across India. Companies made a general thought that technology is now
leading towards Mobile Broadband services but it seems like Reliance Jio
sensed that Blazing fast Internet connectivity with Mobile
Broadband will have no good future even in coming 10 years.
Moreover telecom companies with the hep of Fiber based broadband
services looking for solutions of Network capacity problems. They are
working on technology where they can transfer their data with optical
fiber as far as possible and then transmit it through wireless line at
last.
Reliance Jio will be launching their 4G services with their PAN India
2300 MHz spectrum. They have joined hands with various network like
Viom networks, Bharti Infratel, RCom etc. and now all set for the
launch. We can hopefully see them in market by the end of Sept 2014
